SK and Factor 5 depatures explained

April 18, 2004

Both Factor 5 and Silicon Knights have announced they have stopped development on GameCube games because they are looking forward to the up and coming Next-Generation consoles. Both parties have spoken they are still on very good terms with Nintendo and are excited about GCNext.

It comes as no surprise for their reasons but certainly breathes a sign of relief into many gamers hearts. Silicon Knights is especially known for their long development periods (Eternal Darkness was in development for 4 + years!) and commiting to further GameCube exclusive titles at this point wouldn't make any sense. They would still be in development once GCNext comes out.

Not only does this bring relief, but refuels my exciting with Nintendo. F5 and SK have not left Nintendo - they're probablly already *fingers crossed* developing games for Nintendo's next console.
