Metroid Prime 2 details
While Nintendo has been very quite about Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, sequel to the 2002 blockbuster Metroid Prime, some more information about the highly anticipated title has been revealed. Interstellar bounty hunter Samus will once again be the leading lady as she ventures through a new planet, split into sections of light and dark, to exterminate her prey. The inclusion of a divided battlefield should make for some interesting gameplay mechanics, which are to be made known at a later date.
However, she's not going to be the only hunter on the block... someone or something will be after Samus as well. Similar to Metroid Fusion, where players were chased by the SA-X, an entity that mimicked the beloved bounty hunter down to the Super Missiles and fashionable attire, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes will have a being following the beloved bounty hunter through this strange new world. The identity of this rather brave being is still unknown.
New details also emerged on the multiplayer system, a first in a Metroid title. The multiplayer will be handled in a four-player, deathmatch format. The main objective is to collect weapon upgrades and eradicate the opponent before they beat you to the punch. Also, the level design will be full of places to utilize all of Samus's abilities. There will be Morph Ball tunnels for a quick getaway and grappling points in a prime locations for attacking the enemy, to name a few.
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes has no official release date, but more information should be coming at E3, so stay tuned.
