"Second Sight" Publisher Spotted
Free Radical has been working on Second Sight in addition to the TimeSplitters 2 sequel, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, and haven't given us an official announcement, or even a publisher for their game. Until today, that is! Codemasters revealed that they would be publishing the game for all current-generation consoles, including GameCube. Codemasters also revealed new information on the game that will be shown at E3 next week.
Second Sight tries to be revolutionary by offering gamers multiple ways to play. A cross between a mental thriller, stealth, and what Free Radical is best known for - shooting action. Second Sight will allow players to take control of John Vattic as he awakens from a coma in a medical facility where he has been subject to various tests. He finds out that he has the ability to manipulate objects via his mind, which will be the game's building blocks. Players will have some choice of how to approach the levels: utilizing your psychic abilities; take a more stealthy route; or if they prefer go for always-fun shootouts.
The games' story also plays an important role, too. As Vattic tries to uncover his mysterious past he'll experience flashbacks, which are fully playable, with the outcome of the flashbacks will effect the game's entirety.
As you move through the game, Vattic begins to recognize the actual power he has using his psychic abilities, and in turn use them more skillfully. As the player, you can use John's psychic abilities to heal yourself, project his spirit to the body of his enemies, make enemies believe he's not around, and emmit a powerful shockwave. In addition to these psychic abilities, Vattic will also have an arsenal of thirteen weapons to call upon.
Keep an eye out for more on Second Sight, and Free Radical's other game in the works, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, on the E3 show floor.
