Soul Callibur II
The Soul Callibur series is back for a second taking, after it first smashed into arcades in 1996 with Soul Edge (Later to be named Soul Caliber). It’s already been released nationwide in arcades, now it’s coming to all home consoles, including the Nintendo Gamecube.
The Nintendo version of this game has huge anticipation, and it deserves it. Not only is Soul Caliber a very strong fighter, bringing forth new weapons, players, and arenas, but the GameCube version includes a console exclusive extra fighter. That fighter is Link, though this time it’s not the Cell Shaded Link from Wind Waker though. It’s more of a mix between Ocarina of Time and the Link we saw at Spaceworld 2001. Link comes equip with all the moves you’d expect and carries his trusty Master sword, shield, and a few other weapons from past Zelda’s.
You'll be able to select from 15 available characters at the start of the game. Mitsurugi, Taki, Yunsung, Kilik, Xianghua, Maxi, Ivy, Nightmare, Astaroth, and Voldo should be familiar to returning fans of the series. And new to this Callibur, originally introduced in the arcade version, are Talim, Cassandra, and Raphael. And new to all consoles, but not from the arcade version is Necrid, a green hulk like character that is based off the drawings of Todd MacFarlane.
The graphics on all console versions will all be very beautiful and rich in detail. But certain consoles will obviously look slightly better than others. The GameCube version will look slightly better looking than the Ps2 version, with a quicker frame rate, richer colors, and more detailed textures. The GameCube version also supports progressive scan.
The audio in SCII is also top notch, equal to the visuals. The voice acting in it is very well done, and all the sound effects from weapons smashing together and enemies getting hit are all very well done too.
There will also be some original and some new weapons available to players. Players will earn experience and gold, and the gold is what buys weapons and other items at the shops in SCII. Each character will have 12 weapons at their disposal.
Soul Caliber is set to destroy your family room in August, look for a review on this when it comes out.

Link is the GameCube's "console exclusive" character.

Breathtaking visuals with ground-breaking gameplay. Sounds like a good plan.
