Starcraft: Ghost
Ghost reporting…
Yes. It’s true, a new Starcraft game. No. It’s not true, a direct sequel to Starcraft.
Ghost will take place in the Starcraft universe, but instead of a strategic galactic war game viewed by an isometric eye, Blizzard is taking that perspective in a totally new direction. Starcraft: Ghost will be tactical stealth action based third person shooter that concentrates on one character alone. That one character is, wait for it… a Ghost, a female Ghost by the name of Nova.
Now to players new to the Starcraft universe, a Ghost is a soldier with special “psi” abilities. Psi abilities that will be used in the game will include the ability to cloak, the ability to engage in slow motion “matrix” style bullet time, the ability to see through walls, and she’s even able to jump onto conveniently placed ceiling poles, hang down from them, and snipe enemies before they can even see her.
The Starcraft universe has always revolved around 3 conflicting races. The Terran (human), Zerg (“Starship Troopers” style aliens), and the Protoss (High technologically advanced aliens). Blizzard has shown us plenty to see of the Terran race, and some Zerg too, but they haven’t yet fully explored either race and still remain tight-lipped about the Protoss.
Starcraft: Ghost is still very early in development and there is so much Blizzard has yet to reveal. Ghost hits shelves early 2004, so until then fellow terrans, you’ll have to keep yourselves busy with the original Starcraft.
Look for an updated preview along the way, and a review when we get our copies of the game.

Nova is confronted with a Goliath.

Here are some models of 2 terran marines and a terran Siege Tank. All in their 3D glory.
